Paul Eliasberg was born on April 17, 1907, in Munich. He began studying art in Berlin in 1924 but two year years later moved to Paris and completed his course of studies in 1928 at the Ranson Academy as a student of Bissière.
Paul Eliasberg chose French citizenship in 1947. As an artist, he dedicated his delicate engravings mainly to landscape and architectural themes, on which he bestowed his abstract vision. From 1966 until 1970, he taught at the Städel school in Frankfurt.
Paul Eliasberg died on January 10, 1982, in Hamburg.
